The gorgeous hoverbike gliding adventure game Sable finally got a release date today at Geoff Keighley’s Summer Game Fest. It’s headed to PC and Xbox at last on September 23.
Sable was announced by developer Shedworks way back at E3 2018, and instantly caught our attention with its gorgeous environments and music. The game follows the story of the titular character Sable, who explores an open desert world with 3D platforming, choice-driven conversations, and a lot of gliding around on a really cool hoverbike.
Though there was no new trailer today during Summer Game Fest, we did get a gorgeous musical performance from Japanese Breakfast of some of the music from the game. We also recently got a look at the first set of extended alpha gameplay from Sable.
Sable’s release date announcement was a part of Summer Game Fest, which is in turn part of a lead-up to E3 2021 this weekend. This year’s E3 includes events from Xbox, Square Enix, Ubisoft, Nintendo, Devolver Digital, and more, all of which can be watched and caught up on through IGN’s Summer of Gaming.
